What does ‘spirituality’ mean, and what does it mean to live a ‘spiritual life’?
The word ‘spirit’ comes from the Latin word ‘spiritus’, meaning ‘breath’, ‘breath of God’ or ‘inspiration’. Spirituality is ‘life’. It infuses us with peace and empowers us to love and nourish ourselves and others, whilst giving us our life purpose. Spiritual empowerment is the power to transform ourselves, our lives and the world around us.
We are often taught to look outside of ourselves for the solutions to life’s problems rather than to access the ‘spiritual power’ within to meet those challenges. Part of that ‘spiritual power’ is our Higher Self. The Higher Self is the inner-self; the inner teacher and guide; your intuition. A ‘spiritual life’ is all about learning to sustain the connection to the higher part of ourselves so that we can make our greatest contribution to humanity.
The goal of my ‘Spirit’ area is to express ways to help to manifest the full potential inherent in our spiritual selves, and to realize our soul purpose and connection. By understanding accessing and developing the spiritual part of ourselves, and by liberating and living our own inner greatness, we are able to fulfill our soul’s highest calling – whilst helping others to do the same.
Meditation is an ancient practice, and today it is regarded as particularly helpful for reducing stress and tension. Meditation is also used to access our inner or Higher-selves, and for the purpose of improving their health and general well being. I will be discussing this more in depth through posts here at body and soul mind and spirit.
Meditation also helps you connect with spirit.
